Watertown’s 4th Avenue Yard Waste Drop-Off Site will remain open through Wednesday, November 26, 2025, weather permitting. If winter weather arrives earlier, the site may close early. Located near 700 4th Avenue SW (two blocks east of Municipal Utilities). Visit Tuesday–Saturday from 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
What to Bring:
- Grass clippings and leaves in containers or paper bags only (no loose loads and no plastic bags)
- Branches must be under: 6 inches in diameter and 6 inches in length
- No stumps, lumber, or construction wood
Loads of loose yard waste that will require shoveling to unload must be taken to the Watertown Regional Landfill, not the 4th Avenue site. Yard waste at the 4th Avenue site must arrive in containers or paper bags so it can be emptied into the city-provided dumpsters.
Residents may also continue to bring yard waste and tree waste/larger branches at no charge to the Watertown Regional Landfill. Visit Monday–Saturday from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. To use, bring a current residential utility bill and ensure all loads are secured.
Note: The free branch drop-off at the landfill will end when the 4th Avenue site closes for the season.
